Why? I wanted to read something new. Something no one was talking about. Started looking into new authors. Learned you could read books before they were published. I was denied several times because I didn't have a platform. Fast forward ... I made Momma T's Books. I got my family to follow me. Bam, I have a platform. And it has just been a wild ride ever since.I love reading. Anything, really. And I want everyone to know about the hidden gems out there that come from Indie Authors. That feeling you get after reading an outstanding story. You want to tell everyone, but you have no one to tell. Or at least I don't with my family. So I decided to tell everyone else that would listen.
I started an online book club to get the authors names and works out there.
Then along came The Reader's Depot. We haven't had a local bookstore in over a year. It fast became my place of solace, much to my husband's detriment. But he's a good sport. In speaking with the owner, we discussed adding an in person discussion for the book club. For any local readers that wanted to meet up and discuss the read. It's been a great addition to the online community, and I hope we can continue to grow.
